Lisa Maria Hagen tells stories of raw and rough realities. Her debut documentary “The Renegades – a long way home” celebrated its world premiere at the Hof International Film Festival 2020.

From 2010 to 2016 she reported from Mexico and Latin America for different media outlets in Germany, the US and China. Today she is based in Hamburg, Germany, and Mexico City, Mexico.

Since 2016 Lisa Maria Hagen is working for ARD German Television and Radio, especially for the NDR programs STRG_F, Panorama and “Panorama – die Reporter”. In 2019 she was awarded the Juliane-Bartel-Media-Award for gender equality. In 2020 she received the Grimme Online Award as part of the STRG_F team.
